I heard that the Omna 180 Cam HD is now compatible with Android devices. I have an 180 Cam HD that does not have the latest firmware and the packaging does not state Android compatibility, can it be used with an Android device?
If your 180 Cam HD does not have the latest firmware installed (v1.03), it can still be used with an Android device, but, first, requires a firmware upgrade. However, the firmware upgrade must be performed using an iOS device. If you have an iOS device available, follow the instructions in the included Quick Installation guide to set up the 180 Cam HD using the Omna app for iOS1 and then use the Firmware Upgrade option under the camera’s Settings menu to upgrade the firmware. Once the firmware upgrade has been completed, you can then use the Omna app for Android and log in using your existing Omna account. If you do not have an iOS device available, it is recommended that you purchase an 180 Cam HD that features the Google Play logo on the packaging, as this device will already have the latest firmware installed.
1Before commencing the firmware upgrade, ensure that you are using the latest version of the Omna app for iOS, and you have registered for an Omna account.
