How do I enable WEP/WPA-PSK encryption on my DI-634M?

 

It is recommended to enable encryption on your wireless routerbefore your wireless network adapters. Please establish wirelessconnectivity before enabling encryption.

Note: Your network will slow down and wirelesssignal may degrade when enabling encryption due to the addedoverhead.

Step 1: Log into the web configuration of therouter by opening up a web browser and typing in the IP address ofthe router (192.168.0.1).

Step 2: Enter your username(admin) and your password (blank by default).Click OK. Click on the Home taband then click on the Wireless button on the lefthand side of the screen.

Step 3: For Security Mode, selectWEP. For Authentication, select Open or sharedAuthentication. For WEP encryption select 64bit,or 128bit.

Step 4: Select Key 1. Enter aHex encryption key that you make up. The length of the encryptionkey will depend on what you selected under WEP Encryption from thedrop down menu. The key must match between your router and yourwireless clients.

·  64-bit encryption 10 characters

·  128-bit encryption 26 characters

The encryption key is HEX, meaning 0-9 andA-F are valid characters. For example, A4583DFF1A(64-bit HEX key) would be a valid key.

Step 5: Click on the Applybutton then click on the Continue button to saveyour settings.

WPA-PSK Encryption

Step 3: For Security Mode, selectWPA-PSK. For WPA mode, selectWPA, WPA2 or WPA2 Only. For Cipher Type selectTKIP, AES or TKIP and AES.

Step 4: On Passphrase, type inyour desired key. Re-type this key in the ConfirmPassphrase field.

Step 5: Click on the Applybutton then click on the Continue button to saveyour settings.

Note: If using non-D-Link adapters, please referto the manufacturer´s documentation on enabling encryption.
