D-Link, the multinational networking equipment manufacturer, has announced two new WiFi4EU-ready access points for indoor and outdoor deployment - the Wireless AC1200 Wave 2 Dual-Band PoE Access Point (DAP-2662) and the Wireless AC1200 Wave 2 Dual-Band Outdoor PoE Access Point (DAP-3666). Both devices are specifically designed to provide high-performing, wireless connectivity in a range of environments, as well as scalable, flexible and centralised network management.
For indoor environments, such as public buildings, libraries, health centres and museums, the DAP-2662 offers fast, secure and centrally manageable dual-band Wi-Fi. Whereas, the DAP-3666 provides high-speed wireless connectivity in outdoor locations such as parks and squares. Its rugged, IP68-compliant design allows the access point to withstand harsh weather conditions and outdoor environments, including dust, sand, dirt, and temperatures ranging from -30 to 60 degrees celsius.
Supporting 802.11ac Wave 2, both access points deliver combined wireless speeds of up to 1200 Mbps and feature innovative MU-MIMO technology to ensure multiple devices may access high-bandwidth Wi-Fi signals at any one time. Fulfilling the technical requirement for the WiFi4EU initiative, both Access Points support Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Passpoint® and comply with Hotspot 2.0, ensuring the process devices take to find and access recognised and approved public Wi-Fi is seamless and secure. While the free Nuclias Connect centralised network management software provides dedicated and centralised single point of management for all access points with a WiFi4EU network.
Both access points support the latest WPA3 authentication to ensure robust Wi-Fi security. Each features a wide range of innovative security features, ensuring administrators can configure RADIUS servers and set up MAC-address filtering to create a safe, reliable and trustworthy network environment.
