Challenge
Remote management of a centralised Wi-Fi infrastructure

Solution
Software controller, Nuclias Connect, DAP-2660 and DGS-1510

Results
Improved network productivity, upgradability and ease of maintenance

Challenge

Adapei operates numerous sites spread over the department and is organised into 8 regional sections. To support its professionals, Adapei wanted to implement a Wi-Fi network that could be deployed and managed easily and centrally across all its sites. And of course it also had to be a solution that could be managed remotely. Adapei commissioned APS Solutions Informatiques with the task of selecting the best solution.

Solution

APS decided on D-Link’s centralised management system Nuclias Connect for the remote management of its terminals. The Wi-Fi infrastructure is connected to the branch network which has been equipped with DGS-1510 Smart Managed Gigabit Switches.

Nuclias Connect

  • Nuclias Connect is a cost-effective solution for deploying and managing a network in a secure private Cloud. It is installed on a server and can manage up to 1,000 D-Link access points remotely.
  • The DAP-2660 PoE access point is compatible with the latest Wi-Fi 802.11ac standard which enables speeds of up to 1200 Mbps. It can be easily deployed and configured on any network.
  • The smart managed switches in the DGS-1510 range provide all the functionality required whilst ensuring a high performance level thanks to their 10 GbE ports and PoE power capacities.

Results

About one hundred Wi-Fi terminals have been installed to date across 20 sites. The installation is therefore live and the on-site staff have quickly embraced its use. Ultimately more than 200 Wi-Fi terminals across 70 sites will be deployed. D-Link and APS Solutions Informatiques are longstanding partners, a fact which facilitated the business relationship and enabled a fast and fluid transfer of information.
