D-Link, a global leader in networking and connectivity technology, has today announced its official implementation of the IEC 62443-4-1 industry security standard, awarded by internationally recognised certification organisation - TÜV NORD.

D-Link creates its entire portfolio of products to meet strict security processes from design and development to testing and implementation. D-Link has been certified with the IEC 62443-4-1 Product Security Development Life-Cycle Requirements standard to enhance this further.

This certification specifies the process requirements for the secure development of products used in industrial automation and control systems, including the development environment, supply chain and delivery process. The IEC 62443-4-1 standard defines the secure product development life-cycle to include security requirements definition, design, implementation, verification and validation, management and product end-of-life.

Kevin Wen, President of D-Link Europe, said: “The networking industry has seen an exponential increase in the number of cyberattacks over the last decade. This certification marks an important milestone in D-Link’s ongoing commitment to data privacy and user security.”

D-Link obtained the IEC 62443-4-1 certification with the assistance of Onward Security, a leading security assessment solutions provider and D-Link’s security consulting partner. For more than five years, the company has supported D-Link with product security testing, establishing product safety development systems and the IEC standard implementation.
