DWR-2010

D-Link (Hall 5, Booth 5B10) will showcase its first 5G product, the DWR-2010 5G NR Enhanced Gateway together with its industry-leading LTE networking equipment, including the DWR-981 VDSL2/G.fast LTE Hybrid Router, and the DWR-976 Cat. 20 LTE internet access device. These routers, combining the latest in mobile connectivity with advanced Wi-Fi technology, will be showcased by D-Link at MWC19, Barcelona, as part of its vision on how the delivery of both indoor and outdoor connectivity can be enhanced by an intelligent combination of wireless technologies.

5G to enhance broadband deliverability
D-Link’s DWR-2010 5G NR Enhanced Gateway is one of the first of its kind in the market. The incredible speed of 5G allows the DWR-2010 to fully utilise the bandwidth capability of its AC/AX Wi-Fi, providing wireline Internet experience through mobile connectivity. The gateway features an embedded 5G NR (New Radio) NSA module and can operate on the sub-6 GHz or mmWave frequencies in 200 MHz (2 x 100 MHz) or 800 MHz (8 x 100 MHz) configurations.

For operators, the 5G gateway expands connection options and enables the provisioning of fast broadband service in remote areas. Its simple setup, auto firmware upgrade (FOTA) and remote management (TR-069) help to ensure optimal customer service.

4G+ LTE flexibility
Shown for the first time at MWC19, D-Link’s new DWR-981 hybrid router, uses Multipath TCP (MP-TCP) to allow concurrent use of LTE and VDSL2/G.fast connectivity. Combining this technology into a single, elegantly designed box with dual-band 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi provides simple to install high-bandwidth wireless connectivity for multiple devices throughout customers’ homes.

The company is also highlighting its DWR-976 Internet Access Device (IAD), one of the earliest devices deployed in the market to fully support Cat. 20 LTE enabling it to offer download speeds in the Gbps range.

“We believe that with the capacity that 5G and the latest iterations of LTE offer, hybrids of mobile technology and fixed-line broadband are moving beyond just providing a failsafe for connectivity. They offer new options for bandwidth flexibility between mobile and fixed broadband connections and hence new possibilities for carriers and their customers to get high bandwidth connectivity into areas not well served by fixed lines.” said Kevin Wen, President at D-Link Europe.
