D-Link will preview expansions to its range of wireless networking and smart home products at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. A new mydlink app for both Android and iOS devices adds integration with the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa ecosystems; extending D-Link’s smart home functionality and adding cloud recording for the latest D-Link cameras.
Two new products join D-Link’s Covr family of Whole Home Wi-Fi solutions. The AC2200 Tri-Band Wi-Fi System (COVR-2202) and AC1200 Dual-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System (COVR-C1203) provide blackspot free, high-speed, seamless Wi-Fi to meet the demands of the modern smart home.
A range of new mydlink smart power products, the DSP-W115 Wi-Fi Smart Plug and DSP-W245 Wi-Fi Power Strip, make it simple to add connected intelligence to control a wide range of home and office appliances via the mydlink app as well as compatibility to popular smart home platforms.
“Consumers want simple ways to get seamless wireless connectivity both in the home and the office. Our expanded Covr range delivers that out of the box. However, it’s not just about solving the problems in the here and now, but providing scalable solutions which can adapt to the future needs of the smart home both in terms of coverage and security” said Kevin Wen, President of D-Link Europe.
Wen continued, “Over the past year we’ve seen consumers grow more comfortable with utilising smart home devices via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and we anticipate this mainstream acceptance to accelerate. The new mydlink app opens up access to these services, ensuring that our customers can make full use of their capabilities, while remaining in control of their D-Link devices, through one simple interface.”
D-Link will also be showcasing a range of cutting-edge Wi-Fi routers, created in collaboration with McAfee and Intel, as well as supporting the latest 802.11AX standard. The security focused solution is designed to prevent, detect and combat cyber threats, eliminating the complexity that people face when trying to secure smart home devices. The next generation 802.11AX router is designed to provide the extreme performance needed for gaming, streaming and VR. These new routers are a glimpse at the future of Wi-Fi.
