D-Link has unveiled three new mydlink™ HD Wi-Fi cameras to provide easy and reliable surveillance for the smart home. All three cameras offer free cloud video recording service that stores motion and sound triggered videos for 24 hours. Fully compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, owners of these cameras and compatible connected streaming devices such as Google Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV Stick, can use voice commands to access live feeds to monitor their homes.

With the free mydlink™ app, users can monitor and protect their homes through just their mobile device. Built-in motion and sound detection features, along with night vision capabilities, automatically send alert notifications to keep people up to date on any unusual activity detected at any time of day.

The cameras support local recording to an on-board SD card slot or to a private and secure cloud storage. Aside from the free option, D-Link plans to introduce additional paid recording packages which will store videos for up to 30 days, as well as accommodate up to 10 cameras. Footage can be played back directly from the cloud or downloaded, and the two-way audio feature enables people to both listen and talk through the camera through their mobile device.

The mydlink™ app together allows owners can to make their homes smarter and safer with automation and scheduling. Using compatible mydlink™ smart plugs, for instance, lights can be turned on automatically when motion or sound is detected by the cameras. Additional support for IFTTT (if this, then that) allows the cameras to interact with a wider range of devices.

Their compact, inconspicuous design together with Wi-Fi connectivity, allows the cameras to be placed anywhere in the home or office. Whilst the DCS-8010LH and DCS-8300LH provide 720p resolutions and viewing angles more than sufficient for large spaces, the DCS-8525LH, designed for even larger areas, delivers 1080p HD resolutions. Its pan/tilt function allows monitoring of a far wider area, especially useful for when a front and back view is required.
