How do I configure the WAN settings on my DI-634M?

Select your WAN connection:

·  Dynamic IPAddress

·  Static IPAddress

·  PPPoE

·  PPTP

·  L2TP

·  BigPondCable


 

Dynamic IPAddress


Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP addressof the DI-634M in the address bar (default is192.168.0.1).

Step 2 The default username isadmin (all lower case) and the default password isblank (nothing). Click on OK.

Step 3 Click on the Home tab atthe top and then click on WAN on the leftside.

Step 4 Select Dynamic IPAddress.

Step 5 If your ISP requires a host name enter itnext to Host Name. If you want to use another MAC addressother than the MAC address of the WAN port enter it next to MACAddress and select Use MAC.

Step 6 Click on Apply to saveyour settings.


 

Static IPAddress


Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP addressof the DI-634M in the address bar (default is192.168.0.1).

Step 2 The default username isadmin (all lower case) and the default password isblank (nothing). Click on OK.

Step 3 Click on the Home tab atthe top and then click on WAN on the leftside.

Step 4 Select Static IPAddress.

Step 5 Enter the IP address, subnet mask, ISPgateway address, and primary DNS and secondary (optional) DNSserver addresses.

Step 6 Click on Apply to saveyour settings.


 

PPPoE


Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP addressof the DI-634M in the address bar (default is192.168.0.1).

Step 2 The default username isadmin (all lower case) and the default password isblank (nothing). Click on OK.

Step 3 Click on the Home tab atthe top and then click on WAN on the leftside.

Step 4 Select PPPoE.

Step 5 Select PPPoE andconfigure the following:

  • User Name - Enter your username
  • Password - Enter your password
  • Verfify Password - Confirm your password
  • Service Name - Enter a service name ifrequired by your ISP (optional)
  • MAC Address Enter a MAC address if required byyour ISP (optional)
  • Primary DNS Server - The IP address of theDomain Name Server. Your ISP will provide this information if it isrequired; otherwise, leave this box set to 0.0.0.0.(optional)
  • Secondary DNS Server - The IP address of theDomain Name Server. Your ISP will provide this information if it isrequired; otherwise, leave this box set to 0.0.0.0.(optional)
  • Maximum Idle Time - Enter the amount of time(in minutes) in which the DI-634M will disconnect your Internetconnection after inactivity
  • MTU - Enter the MTU. This is usually1492.

Connection Mode Select

  • Always on - A connection to the Internet isalways maintained.
  • Manual - You have to open up the Web-basedmanagement interface and click the Connect button manually any timethat you wish to connect to the Internet.
  • Connect on demand - A connection to theInternet is made as needed; and the connection is dropped after"Maximum Idle Time" minutes of no activity.

Step 6 Click on Apply to saveyour settings.


 

PPTP


Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP addressof the DI-634M in the address bar (default is192.168.0.1).

Step 4 Select PPTP and configurethe following:

  • Default Gateway - Enter the Default Gateway IPaddress
  • Server IP address - Enter the Server IPaddress
  • Username - Enter your Username
  • Password - Enter your password
  • Verify Password - Confirm your password
  • Maximum Idle Time - Enter the amount of time(in minutes) in which the DI-634M will disconnect your Internetconnection after inactivity
  • MTU - Enter the MTU. This is usually1452.

Step 4 Select BigPond Cable andconfigure the following:

  • Username - Enter the Username
  • Password - Enter the Password
  • Verify Password - Re-enter password
  • Auth Server - Enter the Authentication Serveraddress
  • MAC Address - Enter your MAC address

Step 5 Click on Apply to saveyour settings.
