New Era of 10GbE Affordability for SMBs as D-Link Launches 10GbE Managed Switches

DXS-3400 Series Top-of-Rack Stackable 10 GbE Managed Switches help businesses address the perennial challenges of ever increasing demand for higher network bandwidth

D-Link, the multinational networking equipment manufacturer, today announces the launch of its DXS-3400 Series Top-of-Rack 10 Gigabit (10 GbE) Stackable Managed Switches, providing businesses with more flexibility in their networks. A series of compact high-performance switches, the DXS-3400 is the latest series in D-Link’s 10GbE switch portfolio.

Supporting 20 10GBASE-T or 10G SFP+ ports and 4 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo ports, the DXS-3400 Series Switches provide flexibility across a network whilst also allowing easier network integration. With high-performance and low latency, the DXS-3400 Series Switches also support the demand for virtualisation, cloud services and server-to-server applications - perfect for small and medium sized businesses (SMB) looking for a cost-effective way of servicing a range of network needs and achieving enterprise class IT capabilities.

“Modern businesses require switches that provide high-speed connectivity to the wider company network. Previously 10GbE switches have been the reserve of larger businesses, at D-Link we believe that all organisations - regardless of their size - deserve efficient access to best-in-class technology. This is why we continue to push the capabilities offered across all of our switch portfolios,” said Kevin Wen, President, D-Link Europe Ltd. “The addition of the DXS-3400 Series Switches to our range will give our customers even more flexibility when considering the most suitable switch for their business.”

Easy to set up, configure and monitor, the DXS-3400 Series Switches can be managed individually or as part of a stack of up to four devices. The switches maintain full feature parity between web-based interfaces and Command Line Interface (CLI), giving organisations the freedom to choose how they would prefer to manage the devices. Physical and virtual switch stacking also allows the switches to be managed from a single IP address as well as offering network redundancy across multiple switches.

The DXS-3400 Series Switches can be installed in a variety of ways depending on use case. For example, it can be used as the core switch of a SMB branch for inter-VLAN routing, as an aggregation switch in a metro/campus installation or as part of a bigger data centre installation to support the transfer of data from the storage racks to the extended network. In all of these instances, D-Link’s DXS-3400 Series Switches are easy to install and can work with other standardised devices within the company’s network.

The DXS-3400 Series Switches also feature a modular fan and power supply design for a high availability architecture. The hot-swappable design means that fans and power supplies can be replaced without effecting switch operation.
