How do I use my D-Link wireless utility in Windows XP?

Windows® XP/Windows® XP SP1


Step 1. Right-click My Computerand select Manage.


Step 4. In the Wireless Zero ConfigurationProperties window click the General tab atthe top. Next to Startup type selectManual. Below Service Status, clickStart and then click OK.

 


Step 6. In the Local Area Connectionwindow click Advanced.


Step 8. Right-click My Computerand select Manage.


Step 11. In the Wireless Zero ConfigurationProperties window, click the General tab atthe top. Next to Startup Type selectDisabled. This will prevent the Windows®wireless utility from launching when you reboot your computer.Under Service Status click Stopand then click OK.


Step 2. In the left pane, double-clickServices and Applications and selectServices.

Step 3. In the right pane, double-clickWireless Zero Configuration.


Step 5. Right-click the wireless icon in thesystem tray (the area in the lower right-hand corner of the screen,by the clock) and select View Available WirelessNetworks.
 

 


Step 6. In the Wireless NetworkConnection window click Change advancedsettings on the right side below RelatedTasks.


Step 8. Right-click My Computerand select Manage.


Step 11. In the Wireless Zero ConfigurationProperties window, click the General tab atthe top. Next to Startup Type selectDisabled. This will prevent the Windows®wireless utility from launching when you reboot your computer.Under Service Status click Stopand then click OK.
