How can I bridge network A to network B using DWL-2000AP?

You will need two DWL-2000AP devices, connected with ethernetto respective switch/machine. The instructions below helps you tocreate the wireless bridge. Remember that no wireless clientscan connect to these access points, since they cannot have the modeAP and Wireless Bridge enabled simultaneously.

AP 1

  • Set your PC to a static IP address, on the ethernet connection.Set an IP in the same range as the access point.
  • Login to the web user interface (192.168.0.50) using yourusername and password (admin, blank)
  • Go to HOME -> WIRELESS and select the mode: WirelessBridge.
  • Enter AP 2 MAC address (located on the base of thedevice)
  • Choose your SSID, channel and encryption settings.

AP 2

  • Set your PC to a static IP address, on the ethernet connection.Set an IP in the same range as the access point.
  • Login to the web user interface (192.168.0.50) using yourusername and password (admin, blank)
  • Change the LAN IP address to a unique address, to avoid IPconflicts on the network.
  • Save and close the session. Login to the AP using its new IPaddress
  • Go to HOME -> WIRELESS and select the mode: WirelessBridge.
  • Enter AP 1 MAC address (located on the base of thedevice)
  • Set the same SSID, channel and encryption settings as youchose for AP 1.

As a test, you can ping from one a machine connected to networkA, to a machine connected to network B. If the setup is doneproperly, the firewall rules allow ping services, APs are in range, you should get ping replies accross the wireless bridge.

If you don't know what channel (wireless frequency) isclear to use, test a few in order to find a stable connection. Toimprove the wireless range and signal, indoor/outoor2.4GHz antennas can be purchased separately.
