D-Link, the multinational networking equipment manufacturer, today announced its new DGS-1250 Series Gigabit Smart Managed Switches, complete with four 10G uplink ports, PoE output, high port density, multiple management interfaces, and advanced security features. With these advanced capabilities, the DGS-1250 Series provides a flexible and cost-efficient solution for growing business networks.

All models include four built-in 10G uplink ports, providing multigigabit high-bandwidth connections for uses including data replication and backup, video on demand and 10G server connection. The SFP+ slots allow users to choose the most suitable media type for device requirements, to mitigate performance-sapping network bottlenecks. All DGS-1250 Series PoE switches include support for IEEE 802.3af/at with a high PoE power budget of up to 370W. This allows more PoE devices to be powered by a single switch and be installed in remote locations without requiring access to power outlets.

The series is equipped with a complete line-up of L2 features, including IGMP snooping, port mirroring, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), as well as L3 Static Routing. With D-Link’s innovative Safeguard Engine, the switches are protected against traffic flooding caused by malicious attacks. A host of security and authentication features including 802.1 X port-based authentication, Access Control List (ACL), Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) spoofing prevention and IP-MAC-Port Binding to further protect networks.

Network management simplified
The DGS-1250 Series can be managed through Web UI, the D-Link Network Assistant (DNA) utility or via the dedicated console port. The DNA utility enables easy discovery of multiple D-Link Smart Managed Switches within the same L2 network, for simultaneous configuration and maintenance. Full command-line Interface (CLI) support, providing network engineers more control, precision and repeatability on network configuration, will be enabled by Q4, 2019.

Enhanced support for business resilience
With a business’ network now the backbone of its operations, there is no time for downtime. To maximise uptime the DGS-1250 Series now comes with complimentary D-Link Assist Next Business Day Service. This means that D-Link will send out a replacement product to the customer on the next business day following acceptance of a fault with the device, providing extra peace of mind.
